Today, my daughter called me to pick her up at the mall. She said I had to meet her inside a specific store, so I figured she wanted me to pay for something. Turns out I was right; she was being arrested for shoplifting. FML

I agree 100% I'd teach my child a lesson of the law if it ever came to that and then show them some of my discipline

From personal experience, I know shoplifting can be so addicting. Nothing good ever comes out of it, sit her down and make sure she knows that it is NOT okay to just take what you want.

The hardest thing I ever did was leave my son in jail when he broke the law. But now that he is grown, he respects both me and the law. Sometimes NOT bailing them out really is the better option.

I say let her spend a night in jail. That's what I'd expect my parents to do if I was stupid enough to get arrested. Especially for something as dumb as this.
