OP, I see nothing wrong with your plan, just be sure that they use protection. I don’t judge sex workers or their customers… I would suggest that maybe you also need a psychologist to help you and if needed a plastic surgeon to help with the scars if that’s an option… OP I am genuinely sympathetic. I have a huge scar across my stomach from the surgery that helped cure the cancer (esophageal). When I look at myself in the bathroom mirror, I hate what I see. But I am married and my wife is supportive and that makes all the difference. I hope you can find happiness.
sex work is real work, if it gets your over your anxiety then do it 100%
Agreed with the other commenters thus far that there's no shame in hiring someone to provide a service, but also, if you are able and willing to I would consider seeking out a sex therapist, or a regular one, to work on this specifically. I can't even begin to imagine what you must be going through, but I wish you strength and I hope you can find the time and peace to start healing mentally as well.
A sex therapist could help you with this and they also usually have trained sex workers who specialize in helping traumatized patients.
You can do what you feel is best, but I don't think resorting to a "pro" is going to resolve anything, at least in the long term. Get right with yourself, find someone to love you, and they won't care at all. In fact, it will be something about you that makes them love you more.
