Time to move on

Today, I finally have a job I love with amazing people I call family and a fantastic boss. I've been here 8 months, and I'm doing a great job, I feel like I could work here forever! My most recent project? Printing our "Store closing sale" signs for liquidation. We permanently close in 7 weeks. FML

"Store Closing. Can no longer afford lawsuits caused by one overly-affectionate worker going around, hugging customers, and calling them family."

Murphy's law in affect! I'm so sorry op, that sucks.

I had almost the exact same thing happen to me when I worked at a diner. I feel your pain OP. Try to stay in touch with your coworkers, they sound like really awesome people.

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement!! I definitely plan to keep in touch with as many of them as possible. Thanks to social media, we'll always be connected. When I said "finally," I meant that every job I've ever had I have hated to the point of getting physically ill at the thought of going to work. And I worked in management. I planned on sticking around this one until they got sick of me! I'm a lucky one, though. I have a second job, which I've actually had longer than this one. While I hate it and it doesn't give me many hours, at least I'm not going to be completely empty handed! Some of us have the choice to transfer to another store 25 miles away, but it's too far for most of us. We are mostly disappointed that a very large number of small businesses depend on us to keep their businesses running, and they're now panicking knowing they'll lose us soon. It's hard when corporations make decisions like this based on numbers, and don't look at the demographics of the area. Our town is going to suffer! And, no, it's not Hastings. Lol. And, yes, I am a hugger. :D

That's good you did have your second job to fall back on for the mean time. I hope you find another company that you truly enjoy working for like you did this one OP.

I knew this starter way to well. Sorry OP!
