Don't give up on dating. There are people out there who will love you for who you are. It may take a while, but you don't find gold without shoving aside tonnes of filth.
OP, be aware that some dating sites are just “meat markets” where horny people find willing partners for a quick ****. I’ve been married a long time so so don’t know what the “good” dating sites are. But I know they aren’t all the same… I would also suggest looking for people with mutual interests who form clubs and groups and join one of these. It’s a guarantee of finding someone with some similar interests and not just someone looking for a quickie. Some people have hobbies, like games, etc. Just Google clubs in your area and your particular interest. It’s slower but safer. Also maybe a friend or relative knows an informal group. My daughter found her current husband over a shared interest in wizards and dragons, for example.
