It's all up hill from there? Maybe...
One of my deepest fears when I see a euth on the schedule is accidentally saying "have a nice day" instead of "sorry for your loss." Or even worse, "have a nice loss."
what a catastrophe I hope the customer doesn't get offended to much. Also tell their cat he needs some milk.
The cat's dead. I don't think milk will help.
I'm sure he knew you had good intentions. I always tell families to try to enjoy their day and they always seem to appreciate the sentiment.
Mistakes happen OP, don't stress..
After what just happened i hope he and you have a better day
I feel your pain OP. :(
Been there, done that. I've taken to the habit of telling clients to "drive safe" when leaving the clinic. Applies to happy and sad situations, shows genuine care, and avoids awkwardness.
At least you didn't say "see you next time!"

I'm sure he knows you didn't intend to be rude or anything, we all **** up like that sometimes :)
