I can hear, so I can't say I know how you feel, but I do feel bad for you. I am fluent in ASL and I can even fully understand the "deaf accent" because my close cousin is deaf. People just don't understand the implants. My cousin had someone ask her one time where he could get "one of those mp3 players" so maybe this kid thought it was something like that. Either way he needs to have his ass beat and replace it because they are expensive as hell.

I'm hearing impaired. I have been ever since I was born. I also have a cochlear implant, and while I do have a hearing aid, almost ALL my hearing depends on that cochlear implant. MINE got broken because it fell off my head, and an a**hole thought it would be great fun to step on it. I can't get another one for two years. I understand exactly how frustrated you feel. I hate insensitive people, and one who doesn't understand just how pressing and vital hearing is deserves to have wax in his ears so HE (or she) can't hear. I just want to say that I'm sorry and I hope that kid learns a lesson.

Stupid kid...My kid would never run off with someone's hearing aid, or anything that wasn't his...All of the parent's that are mentioned on this site are usually terrible terrible parents that should really not be allowed to reproduce if they're going to raise them to be little thieves and badmouths...also dumb security guard..

use sign language??
