Today, a person came into McDonald's, where I work. They ordered a happy meal. As they were an adult, I assumed the meal was for their child, who wasn't with them. When I asked if the toy was for a boy or a girl, they said the toy was for them. I still had to ask if it was for a boy or a girl. FML

I hate how they always assume you want a certain kind of toy based on your gender. I may have been a little girl, but I wanted the toy car, not the toy barbie. And guess which one they always gave me. :(

yeah, I work at Mcdicks to, and I get those everynight since I work overnight. not only do they DEMAND a toy, after they order (in drive thru mind you) they drive off like idiots leaving you with a happy meal sitting there molding all night long. you have it easy my friend. Notice you are from ontario too. Ottawa, 4416 Innes Rd.

wow really? I've seen 8 year olds order by themselves a "whopper junior with extra ketchup with no lettuce".

We don't have Burger King in Belgium. Do they even have a children's menu? Because if not, this example was very non relevant.

that's a bit of age discrimination there kids meals are a cheap form of meals for elderly and people on a fixed budget. wow would think moderators would catch this age discrimination think I will file civil suit with my local cival liberties union

I work at McDonald's, you have to ask or your manager gets irritated because it makes things slower. Which is bs.

I'm a guy and last time I specifically asked for the girls toy, I prefer a 4rd gen my little pony over a 5th gen pokemon any time.

I seen the person who ordered it's post yesterday!

THERE WAS ANOTHER FML FROM THE OTHER PERSONS PERSPECTIVE...woah

It's funny cause I just read another FML from Their view XD

They still have to tell you which toy they want

Op, you were just doing your job. Don't feel bad. And, just like everyone else stated, all employees are required to ask what kind of toy you'd like in order to not have pissed off parents come back saying they don't like their toys.

I'm so glad we don't have boy and girls toys at the McDonald's here in the UK. 2 different toys a week, given to kids regardless of their gender.
