Today, a very pretty girl came up to me and asked me for my phone number. Very pleased, I give it to her with a huge smile and tell her that I can be reached at any time. I then watch her go back to her group of friends. My number was for her gay friend, who then meekly waved at me. FML

Today, my friend told me that she gave my number to a guy I've liked for a while. I asked why and she just said "He's just going to have to tell you himself." I got hopeful and really nervous. A few hours later he calls. Turns out, he's called to try and get a date with my gay friend. FML

Just please be nice when and if he calls! Gay guys have assumed my husband is gay on a number of occasions, and he always takes it as a compliment--most gay guys have good taste. :-)

I don't think it's necessarily being hit on that causes the disgust, it's more the implications behind a gay guy being interested in a straight guy. He's assumed to be gay...when he's not. Now whether that be down to his appearance or behavior, we don't know. But he probably pride himself on being a macho straight guy and it's been completely subverted.
