Today, a very pretty girl came up to me and asked me for my phone number. Very pleased, I give it to her with a huge smile and tell her that I can be reached at any time. I then watch her go back to her group of friends. My number was for her gay friend, who then meekly waved at me. FML

Today, my friend and I went to a bar for drinks. I noticed this cute girl and went over to say "Hi." I had a great conversation with her and I asked for her number before she left. She passed it to me on a piece of paper with instructions specifying for my friend to call her and not me. FML

Today, my friend told me that she gave my number to a guy I've liked for a while. I asked why and she just said "He's just going to have to tell you himself." I got hopeful and really nervous. A few hours later he calls. Turns out, he's called to try and get a date with my gay friend. FML

Just please be nice when and if he calls! Gay guys have assumed my husband is gay on a number of occasions, and he always takes it as a compliment--most gay guys have good taste. :-)

Dude. That's NOT and FML. That's an 'OMG, I am just that hot.' If he thinks you're cute/sexy enough to be shy about asking out you're doing good. Some of us (nudge nudge wink wink) would have gone with it... And maybe gone over and asked him out first, depending.
