I'm sure the Dr didn't mean OP having MS is happy, but that OP went in for something else and they discovered it and can now begin to treat it sooner rather than later? I know it's not curable right now but that doesn't mean they won't find a way in the near future, keep your head up OP!
Yes, your doctors phrasing was insensitive to say the least, but when they were testing me before my MS diagnosis, I looked up some of the things that the blood tests were for. Terrifying, horrible, fatal things. MS was what they found, but it honestly could have been worse. My only advise to you is to not let all the well meaning idiots torture you with all the "cures" that they will tell you about. Just live as healthy a lifestyle as you can, without letting it consume you.
I hate to say it but discovering it accidentily is far happier than discovering it over time. Those words your doctor spoke were words of optimism. Remain positive!
I'm sorry to hear you had a dick Dr. But you're not alone,I was recently diagnosed as well. I had a doctor that did not use any tact.but by reading the comments, you're not alone And I do not feel alone or like freak.
I am so sorry! I hope you get through this :/
Always sleep and be rested, avoid over processed and junk food, take royal jelly (it's a natural B vitamin complex) and if necessary try bee venom therapy. You'll be ok. I was scared at first... everybody is. One doctor actually told me that it's a good thing it's MS and not Lyme or Lupus... i was too shocked to know what to make of it then... It's been 7 years now. Be well!
#59 I agree with your doctor, but not with your comments on food and vitamins. I have lupus and know that it is going to kill me, with MS the flare ups are usually less severe, the disease as a whole is supposedly less severe. OP- Vitamins and diet are not going to get anywhere near to curing you, and neither is bee venom, personally I find it highly offensive whenever people suggest these. If that was correct, then the doctor would have told them. I hope your flare ups aren't too bad, and have a good day.
The doctor did not give you Multiple Sclerosis. But finding it early this way would be a "happy accident" given the alternative of finding it after the disease has progressed and you start experiencing the symptoms. Assuming those same symptoms aren't what your doctor was investigating without already considering Multiple Sclerosis.
Same thing happened to my friend Lisa, and we also live in PA. I have to wonder if it was the same doctor.

It's happy because he found it and can treat it before you get seriously affected by it.
At least it was discovered but your doctor has very poor bedside manner OP. Sorry about that :/
