It's good that you're trying to be active! Try wearing pants- it can get hot depending on where you live but it will help with the chafing. Or maybe try biking?
That really all depends on the kind of pants. Tight pants would be best to minimize rubbing, while loose, baggy pants would probably just make it worse.
There is medicine that you can apply to your thighs that will make your thighs glide better when they rub so that they don't get irritated.
Don't chase the thigh gap (the vast majority of people never attain it, as it happens to people who are malnourished or whose pelvis is put together in a certain way), just be ready for your walks. A pair of shorts or bandelettes will mitigate most damage, but stick deodorant or anti-chafing products can help too. And on the bright side, at least your thighs are just numb, and not suffering untold searing agony like I used to get before committing to constant shorts-wearing (sweat + chafing = UNGODLY PAIN). :)
made a whole account just to comment lol. something that works for me is putting deodorant on my thighs where they rub! keep up the good work! ♡ ♡
A small sacrifice when you look at the positive side and realize it won't be like that forever! Just remember next time to bring a Lil powder with you to work and apply before your walk. Good luck!

lucky they were numb and not bring like the depths of hell.
in my mind, it's good when my thighs touch because I can easily catch food and other items that I drop! it's definitely come in handy
Could be worse. There could be blood involved. Make sure to put some cream or something on it tonight, chafing the chafed area is pretty much the worst. If you want to make a habit of this, you can cut some old tights at knee level and wear them underneath your regular clothes, it's a lifesaver for me on hot sweaty days.

Look at the bright side, if your thighs touch you're one step closer to becoming a mermaid!
Build new good habits and keep walking. A sedentary lifestyle is far more dangerous than an active one. Think of your heart health and keep walking.
