I think I hear banjos.
It's not necessarily just the weirdness that OP is annoyed about because, as people have pointed out, there are no blood relations involved. But it's selfish of the parents because, if things were to go wrong with OP's relationship and they got divorced, their parents would still be married and that would make everything incredibly difficult.
If the parents have a kid, the kid would simultaneously be OP's half sibling, step sibling, and sibling-in-law if I understand correctly. What a clusterfuck.
