Today, after saving up for weeks, I bought myself an iPad. Because mine is better than the one my parents bought my ten-year-old brother, he got pissed and threw it into our pool. I'm now grounded for getting angry and calling him a bastard in the aftermath. FML

Today, my dad borrowed my new iPad to amuse him while he was in the shower without my knowledge. The iPad is now completely ruined, and my dad is refusing to buy me a new one. He says, "How was I to know that it wasn't waterproof?" FML

Today, while mopping the kitchen, I ended up slipping and and knocked over the table that had my mom’s iPad on it. The screen shattered; I sprained my wrist. I asked my mom to take me to the ER. She called me "selfish" because her iPad screen repair would "cost more." FML

Almost the same thing happened to me. My brother and I both got laptops for school, bought for us by my parents. He broke his within a couple years so my parents handed him a brand new one for his tenth birthday. Since I was two years older, when mine got broken I had to save up all $914 to pay for the damn thing. Don't you love little brothers and their cunning ways?

Take it out of the water. Do NOT turn it on. Take it immediately to an audiologist. They have machines that are used to dry out highly specialized electronic equipment (i.e. hearing aids, etc) in the event that they fall in water. Remember: its not the water that damages it, it is the drying out process. Take it to an audiologist ASAP. I know its weird, but trust me. :)
