Today, after thirteen years of engagement, my fiancé and I split. As is, with the day, we changed our Facebook relationships to make it official. I logged back on tonight to find his mother, the woman I've spent the last year looking after and having a good time, "liking" the break up. FML

I hate to say it but YDI...after the first 3-5 years of engagement, you should have known something was up.

why does Facebook have to make everything official?? I think that people put too much stock into that site!

You let him string you along for 13 years? Come on lady... I'd feel bad for you if it was like, three years... but over five and it's pretty clear he was just humoring you.

I suppose your mother is only honest with you on facebook? No? Then STFU

since when does facebook make ANYTHING official? ydi on that basis alone.

It's bizarre and sad at the same time how Facebook has practically become an indispensable part of our lives.

speak for yourself and all the other e-diots out there. Facebook is something i have, but it isn't "an indispensible part of my life" the most time i even spend on it is for bejewled blitz.(kills time at work, when there was work anyway ...=(... ) so continue on with your sad little E-life, because you're too sad and pathertic to have a real one. but it's o.k., facebook can be indispensible for people like you.

Haha someone got a little touchy about a generalized statement. Go **** yourself.

If you have to make it "Official" via facebook, then I'm sorry but you deserve the "Like" given by your former mother-in-law. ;D

YDI for letting your fiancé use and abuse you for 13 years. Women like this are why so many guys refuse to commit- because women will let them have the milk and the cheese and the sour cream for free for 13 years, anyway.
