Today, after three years with my boyfriend hardly ever going to any social or public event with me due to his social anxiety, I got to witness him improve his flirting skills on every girl available at his house party. FML

Looks like a disease that you shouldn't have cured.

He probably uses that as a way in with the ladies: "I have terrible social anxiety.. I-I wish I could stay, you're so charming but-but...it's really horrible, I just can't." "How can I help you with that then? I am enjoying being with you!" "Oh, well, there is one thing..." 3:D

On to the next one.... No need for a guy to treat you like that. It's disrespectful to you.

Social anxiety can manifest in different ways in different situations under different conditions. Predicting how you might behave with social anxiety is not a sure thing. The first few times you do something, it might act up. After that, you won't even be bothered by it anymore. Maybe the boyfriend feels more comfortable in his own house. But still, what he did was douchey.

This might be the only way he CAN talk to girls. If he's really socially anxious, it usually stems from fear of rejection or of being disliked. Flirting is the easiest way to get someone to appreciate you. I know it might be hard to see on your part, but if you ask him about it, that might be the result. Could be he's feeling bad about it too, so make sure you know your boyfriend before judging him too harshly...

He doesn't have real social anxiety. If he has a girlfriend (you) and is able to flirt with other girls like that, he's just faking. He's probably just a really lazy and self-centered liar. Ditch him.
