Today, as a reward for finishing all my work in maths, I was told I could leave early. Apparently, later on, the class had a random attendance inspection. I didn't know about this until I received a detention for not being present at that class. My teacher had completely forgotten about me. FML

Hi, OP here. Thanks for the comments, so happy this got published and the maths jokes made me laugh :) to people questioning the random attendance inspections - my school has really bad attendance generally so we get them to try and scare us into coming more. I did talk to my teacher and he spoke to the office and explained the situation and they let me off :) so alls well that ends well I suppose. I was just a bit annoyed at my teacher forgetting me! But bless him he was very apologetic. Anyway, thats me explained :)

Glad everything worked out in the end!

At least your teacher isn't a cuntface jerk OP.

At most schools, teachers have to take attendence at the begining of class. Or at least in NY.

No you just get your attendance taken in form at the beginning of the day and then random inspections after that. Our school still uses paper instead of computers (bit behind the times) so I think they find it easier rather than dealing with hundreds of paper registers.

My school does those too so I get where you're coming from

Seems odd that your teacher forgot about you.

Because your memory is top notch and you arnt human so you never forget anything right. Its human nature bud

Some people have perfect emories its not common but does happen.

I had a similar situation once. I got a call home saying I had been absent for one of my classes, and I had not only been there but actually had a conversation with the teacher. Apparently he forgot about that when he did attendance. The next day I talked to him and got it straightened out. Took awhile to convince my mum I hadn't been skipping though :P

Here's hoping when you left "math" class you ran straight to English class.

"*English* class", he says. As in England, where they call it "maths".

Lol I almost had to miss my High School Graduation becuase of a situation like that. My teacher said when we were done putting our binders together of all our work for the term to put them in the box over on the table and then we could leave early. I had prepped mine at home like we were supposed to so was in and out. While others were working on theirs he changed the location. I got told later by the office since I failed that class I wasn't going to graduate. I went to his classroom and he claimed I didn't turn in my work. I walked over to where the box was still sitting reminded him that he had said the box and that I had left first thing he said he remembered I reached in and pulled it out as he watched me. He apologized for the error and then told me he would be marking it down severely because I was turning it in so late.

That's bullshit that he would mark it down when he made the mistake. You handed it in on time and should not be punished for his mistake. Ugh some teachers.

The exact same thing happened to me in health freshman year, my report card said I passed the class but senior year a week before graduation the principal, then health teacher, called me into the office to tell me I wasn't graduating
