Today, as I was driving to work, I witnessed a kid apparently getting jumped. Being a good citizen, I got out and started yelling at them. I ended up alongside the kid in the hospital. FML

Aw thanks for trying though. It's good to see!

You did the right thing, don't worry about it. Karma/fate/God/whatever you want to call it, will take care of the jumper.

"l got out and started yelling at them." Nice going, Aquaman.

So you saw a kid getting jumped, and instead of calling the police or calmly breaking up the fight, you started yelling at the offenders? Then you wonder why you got your ass kicked? Don't get me wrong, you had good intentions, but you went about this the totally wrong way. I'm probably gonna get thumbed down but there's nothing heroic about jumping into a fight you know nothing about when you're not ready to fight. Just be glad that no one was packing heat or else you would have been in the morgue instead of the hospital.

You started yelling at "them"? There was more than one of them, and you thought you'd be a superhero and save the day? I'm all for doing good deeds, but this was just stupid, plain and simple.

My comment was posted the same time as DocBastard's and we both had the same view. I feel special :)

I suggest you invest in fighting lessons..or simply a gun.

And this is why I carry a 12 gauge in my car. There's no laws against carrying legal long guns in Texas. >:) My advice: look at your state gun laws, and see if you can get a concealed carry. If so, get one, and carry a gun. That way, if anyone tries anything you can just pop a cap in their ass.

I saw something like this happen once and I did the same thing, I got out and tried to help the kid who was getting walled on. Thank god I had my piece on me (I'm a cop) because they looked like they would have killed the kid. Solution: get a gun permit, and this world would be a lot safer.

It probably would have been better to call the cops. If you had to say something, then just say "I called the cops!" and they'll run for the hills. Still, kudos for not just passing by.

this i why you carry a "cold steel extra large espada (as long as there are not length limits on folding knives in your region unfolded, its about 17 inches long =D).

i rather be hurt and in a hospital, than see someone in need of help and cowardly look away.you did a great thing
