Today, at dinner, I accidentally let it slip that I'd taken a small sip of alcohol a few years ago and hated it. My extremely strict parents are now trying to get me into rehab. FML

How old are you? If you're 13, I kinda understand their reaction, although I disagree. However, if you're an adult, yeah, they're out of line. Is religion motivating this?

You think that a thirteen year old should be allowed to drink. Is alcohol motivating this?

religious people ARE allowed to drink, after all, Jesus did turn water into wine

177 - that's true, but the Bible states that getting drunk is a sun because the body is a temple, and not taking care of that 'temple', so to speak, is a sin.

172, a thirteen year old TASTING alcohol is not the end of the world. It's actually pretty okay. Taking one sip is not the same as actually drinking.

Wow ur parents must be verrrrryyyyyyyyyyyy strict!

tell them you also tried weed, speed, and unprotected sex and loved it.

"they try to make me go to rehab, I say no no no"

they try to make me go to rehab but I said no, no, no.

Don't know why religious people are so against alcohol. Wedding at Cana, anyone?

The day I turned thirteen my dad decided all teenage girls are ***** and I was no longer aloud to see men outside of school and the family :) I know how you feel having crazy parents it sucks but over time they will hopefully come to their senses like my father

Hey its alright you can tell them that you were joking. Parents can be crazy.. my dad told me im not allowed to date til im 35 and said im not allowed to move out until im married :P

If he tells them he's joking then they will probably think he's a liar who will grow up to be a physco murderer.

You're parents are terrible people if this is even a real story which I highly doubt
