I am sure this was mortifying and disappointing and it doesn't seem like it, but he did you a favor by doing this before you got married instead of later. And it isn't a given that the MoH was a party to this at all. There are people who request celebrity photos from fan clubs and then think that because they received one that means that the celebrity and they are now an item. It's not much of a stretch from that to " I know; I'll become her friend's boyfriend, that way she'll get to see what a great guy I am!"
