Today, at the store, I noticed a girl eyeing a chocolate bunny. Her mom refused to buy it, saying they didn't have enough money. She started crying, so I decided to make her day and offered to buy it for her. Her mom reacted by slapping me across the face and calling me a "pedo." FML

Op, here. I'm fifteen years old and am absolutely not a pedo. I am a boy and thought that I was doing something good for the girl. All of the comments about healthy eating habits are not true, the woman was buying a lot of candy, but wouldn't let the girl have the rabbit. Idk why, she reminded me of my little cousin and I decided to buy it for her. The mother did keep the rabbit, though, so I don't know why she lashed out at me :/

Why're complete douche bags becoming parents?!

Oh my god, some people don't know what being kind, and considerate is.

I did the same thing w chips and her mom refused to let me give it to her and left the store. I don't get why people can't appreciate kind gestures and have to be so rude about it.

I understand you were trying to do a nice thing, and the mom definitely should not have hit you or called you a pedo. However, I don't think it was a good idea in this situation to offer to buy a stranger's kid a chocolate. She could've just been saying they didn't have enough money because she didn't want her to have any more sweets. Or, maybe she had candy waiting for the kid at home and didn't want to spoil the surprise. When it comes to other people's kids, unless they are your niece or nephew or something, it's generally best not to buy them treats.

can someone explain to me exactly how over 8000 people thought this person deserved to be slapped for being kind and charitable? do people like vlad the impaler deserve statues too? tell me your thought process!
