Thanks for all the positive comments :) to answer som questions: yes I'm recovering well. The surgery was to fix a deviated septum. The patient before me didn't immediately respond to the pain meds that's why he was screaming. And I wrote this fml last night at 2 am after the anesthesia wore off

Just because someone is screaming their heads off after surgery doesn't nesscessairly mean they're in pain. I remember screaming after I had a surgery once, and I didn't have any pain. I was just, really, really, dizzy and sleepy. Lol.
Haha, I was feeling nooo pain after my surgery, but I was stuck in the recovery room next to a guy who non-stop whined even after having been given a ton of pain meds. I did however have a ridiculous reaction to the anesthesia, where I was borderline hypothermic. They had to bundle me up in about a million heated blankets (which felt lovely).
Everyone wakes up from anesthesia differently. Some wake up as if in a bad nightmare (emergence delirium), not in pain. Hope your procedure went well & the pain was manageable. --Recovery Room RN
My recovery room RN's were wonderful! So here's a shout out to you! I did think it was kind of cute though that they didn't recognize me in a hospital gown. (I work in the in-patient pharmacy at the same hospital and am in and out of the PACU all the time). XD
Get well soon! :]
I had my severely deviated septum fixed when I was 13. I wouldn't have been in much pain if they hadn't pinched my uvula when the put in the breathing tube. Mother F*&#er hurt for weeks. Hope you heal well OP!
I had an operation at 11 to help my legs grow right. my legs were ****** after it and I pretty much lived in the hospital for some time learning to walk again,I can tell you,I will never forget the pain I felt the first time I tried to stand up.
You must have been okay since you are taking the time to write an FML about it. Glad you made it!
You seem fine enough to type this fml.
Why are you already on this app writing a story if you just got out of an apparent painful surgery?
Because they're most likely stuck in bed and bored as hell? I know that after my surgery I was on the net (after waking up about fifteen hours later, I was really sensitive to the drugs).
