Today, I accidentally dropped my birth control pill on the floor and my dog ate it. The good news is, I startled her and she spit it right out. The bad news is, I still had to take it after it had been in my dog's mouth. FML

Today, my cat threw up on the floor while I was taking a nap. I woke up, still groggy from the nap, and walked over to the bathroom. Not only did I slip on the vomit, spreading it all over the floor and myself, I think I somehow broke a toe in the process. FML

The cat will be 100% fine - the amount of oestrogen/progesterone in a human birth control pill will do nothing (yes, I'm a vet)

I hope you took your cat to the vet immediately. It could make your cat sick. It's unusual for cats to eat things like that. They usually have more refined taste buds

Don't get worried too much. In my experience with cats, they hate pills so there's a chance your cat just spat it back out again because it's dry and unpleasant. And based on a quick Google search there's nothing poisonous to cats in birth control pills. But to be on the safe side maybe take your kitty to a vet?
