oh dear god. that made me laugh. at least your parents are accepting of you.
thats great, why is that bad at all? at least your parents accept you...thats not fml..at all
His parents accept him as something that he's not! As much as gay people are accepted by society nowadays, I guarantee you that most straight people wouldn't want to be falsely labeled as gay, especially in such a public way. My friend told a few people that I was gay (which I'm not), and it was quite annoying having to correct their misconceptions and endure the awkward conversations. It would have been a great thing (a little ostentatious perhaps) if the OP was gay, because it shows that his parents care, but seeing as he is not gay, it was humiliating, and clearing the issue up with all of the neighbours will be mighty awkward (especially if he has conservative neighbours)
I am a straight girl, and I have been asked if I was a lesbian twice. The first time I was in fith grade, and across the lunch table, a girl asked loudly, "Are you a ******?" Very recently, I was talking with a friend, and in the middle of her sentence, this genuinely rude girl butts in with, "You're a LESBIAN?!" to me, even though I hadn't said anything remotely close to that. And this was in front of rather popular people.
I realize that this must have been really embarrassing for you, but all I can think is how much I wish my parents were half as okay with it as yours are.
Wish my parents were like that

Even if you were gay They went a little overboard, no?
At least you know your parents aren't bigots... is that any consolation? :)
