I know people react to life's unfortunate events by laughing or venting on this site, and hope for a little sympathy, but this seems deserved, intentionally or not, so maybe a good Dane Cook style cry is in order- and then don't tell anyone else what you happened (it doesn't make you look very good).
Good thing you didn't ask her if she save room for dessert- you could be out a job by now
Yeah as a server I don't see a reason to ask someone "if they had enough" and then push the issue when they say yes, YDI.
Kinda rude O.P
Mistakes happen, learn from it and move on.
Yeah, not a good move. Next time, maybe suggest a dessert or something so it sounds like you're trying to upsell. Saves you from looking bad, saves the customer from being offended.
Why is everyone so sensitive these days? every little thing puts them over the edge. good grief!

Mistakes happen... But you probably shouldn't ask any customer if they are sure about that, overweight or not.
I feel like a super skinny person would not have taken it well either... Just know for next time not to push as much and just accept the customer's answer as final unless they say otherwise to avoid situations like these.
