Today, I asked a girl I liked for her number, but she claimed she had a broken phone and was getting a new one for Christmas. Unhinged, I go home and go onto Facebook. First thing I see is her status: "Why is no one answering my calls?" FML

Today, I rang my girlfriend to make sure she made it home alright. She told me to check my Facebook. Nothing was different so I hit refresh. We were no longer in a relationship. I got dumped via Facebook whilst on the phone to her. FML

Today, I went to a rock concert and met this amazing girl. We started talking and then swapped cell numbers. Five minutes later, she asks to see my cellphone, so I gave it to her. Once I got home I went to text her and saw that she deleted her number. FML

Today, a girl with her eyes glued to her phone bumped my arm going in the opposite direction on the sidewalk. She dropped her phone, chased me to the bus stop, and told everyone that I broke it. She threatened to call the police. FML

Today, I fucked up when I answered a phone call. I wasn't sure who the number was at first, and it turned out to be my ex girlfriend who had apparently been stalking me. She asked me how my new girlfriend was, and as I answered it in front of my girlfriend, she's now depressed. FML

Today, I changed my relationship status on Facebook from "in a relationship" to "single." I forgot to take my phone to work, and when I got back, I saw someone had replied, "What happened?" Someone else commented, "He broke his hand." My ex and a bunch of other "friends" liked it. FML

READ, man, read! She told him she knew it was broken before she went and posted the status wondering why no one was ANSWERING (which is, indeed, different from returning) her calls. Presumably, since it's the first thing he saw and therefore had to be a recent status update, it was after he asked for her number. So, unless she has advanced Alzheimer's or something, she wouldn't have forgotten why the phone didn't work. Not to mention the fact that I've never heard of a phone not working in such a way that the call would be made but couldn't be answered. In conclusion, FAIL. -_-

If you are already friends on facebook, why dont you ask her for her number after christmas by facebook message. If she doesnt reply, then you know she just isnt that into you. Or perhaps just try chatting to her on fb when you guys are both online. Im not sure its a FML - but I can see how it could feel like a bit of a slap in the face!

okay. when are you guys going to start doing this right!!! IF YOU WANT TO TALK TO A GIRL, OFFER HER YOUR NUMBER!!!! that way the girl isn't put into an awkward situation of telling you no, making up a lie that her phone is broke, ect. also, it looks good to a girl.. it's like you are giving her control... she'll appreciate that.. and if she's not into you, she won't call and that's the worst insult you'll have to go through.. instead of calling and calling and her ignoring and then finally breaking down and telling you to leave her the hell alone.. I'm just saying, as a woman, i'd rather a guy come up to me, introduce himself, chit chat... and say, well, i'd like to hang out more, can i give you my number? and she'll either take it, and not call you .... take it, think about it and then call you, or take it and give you hers too! GEEZE! so about the actual FML, maybe her phone is broke and she's using her home phone and her friends don't recognize that #, so they aren't answering.. hmm...

Nah, women generally don't call back most of the initiative lies with the guys (at least in the 'early' phase). Best is not to ask for her number, but put it more as a statement: "hey, give me your number so we can plan to do x (insert idea for a date here)".. My guess is the guy didn't connect enough for her to give out her number..

i though men were supposed to do the "chasing" and i thought there was like a 2 day rule with calling a girl if you're interested, calling day of getting the number is definitely a sign of desperation. idk it just is weird giving a girl your number, even if she asks. kinda takes the manliness out of pursuing when you give her the number
