Late for his own funeral

Today, it was my uncle's funeral. As we were in the cars behind the hearse, I lost sight of it in traffic, ended up taking a wrong turn, and getting lost… As did half the cars behind me, who also didn’t know where the crematorium was, and just kept following me. We delayed the funeral quite a bit. FML

Today, I was at my grandma's funeral. While giving the eulogy, I accidentally mixed up "You will be missed" and "You won't be forgotten" and instead said "You won't be missed." FML

Today, while driving in a funeral procession I was distracted, missed my turn and yelled "God dammit!" I'm the funeral director; the Priest was in the car with me as I led the funeral the wrong way. FML

Today, I was set to meet my friends at a new, trendy café. I arrived early, eager to impress, but ended up walking into the wrong café and got stuck for an hour engaged in a disturbing conversation about serial killers with a total stranger who'd deludedly mistaken me for a long-lost friend. FML

Today, I was stuck in what I thought was traffic on my way home from work. I started weaving in and out of traffic because it seemed to only be a few cars holding up the line. I get to the front of the line and I'd realized I just weaved through a funeral procession. FML

Today, I went to what I thought was my friend’s house for a barbecue. I walked into the backyard and started chatting with people I didn't recognize. After about 20 minutes, I realized I was at the wrong house, eating a stranger's food. FML

How do you attend the wrong funeral? Did you notice at the beginning, or when you went to give the eulogy for "Great-grandma Suzy" and looked in the coffin to see some Chinese guy??? No, but really, I'd say it's an FML for the dead person, because they're.... kinda dead. You're just sort of an idiot.

It's not as difficult to happen as people think. A lot of funeral homes book funerals right up against each other, so if you get the time wrong you could walk into an earlier or later funeral. Of course, there's usually a picture of the deceased somewhere. That would be a bit awkward if you were a different race than the deceased family. You could jump up and say "Ta Da!! When's the will going to be read?" What? you didn't want to be conspicuous? My bad...
