viola98 tells us more.
Clarification: I broke the lamp by complete accident. I was vaccuming my living room and I caught the edge of the vaccuum on the end of the coffee table, and the light went crashing to the ground. I did tell my mom, and she was initially upset, but the lamp itself didn't have any sentimental value, making the situation a bit better. It was a vintage lamp she got at an auction in France. Thank you for your concerns and comments, haha, I've learned my lesson.

ouch. theres some places that specialize in these repairs-not cheap-but if you dont want your mom to find out...........
Having been in quite a similar situation with a lamp, I can honestly say that you deserved it for not being more careful around an item so precious to your mom. Luckily, however, my broken lamp was a cheap-o one. Well, you live and you learn OP, but I still say YDI. Be more careful :)
YDI for not paying attention...however count yourself luck, if it were my mom she'd beat my ass till my eyes bled, take her payment in blood drops...
You're all talking about expensive lamps, and all I'm picturing is a glass genie lamp. Shit.
Let's read into this a little more. Before she's back in three weeks? Maybe the OP had a party and broke it while her parents are gone? Probably not, but odds are it was her fault for breaking it, that wasn't included. I find it hard to believe she broke a lamp through no fault of her own in any way.
If it was a truly innocent mistake, like you were cleaning the house and it just happened to fall, then sucks for you. If you were running around like an idiot, had a party, etc... too bad, ydi. But, I can't even imagine your mother's reaction. I am so anti-materialism. But, some things, like a 90yo gorgeous (I assume, since a lot of them are) lamp, I *would* cry over.
ignoranus is not a word. You probably got it off urbandictionary.
