Actually it is. I received a notice in the mail 2 weeks ago saying they'll renew my membership on the 25th and then bill me.

You're welcome to use some of my favorite lines: "That's not going to happen." "What part of the word 'no' do you not understand?" And if that isn't enough, "That's it. Please transfer me to your manager, now. I want to report your behavior."
I'm sure the manager is going to be furious his employees are talking people into purchasing memberships to his store.
Seller: 1, you: 0...
I remember Comcast service spending 20 minutes trying to convince me to leave their cable plan. if it were any other situation, I would've dropped the call, but I needed cancel it regardless. I'm guessing the Costco employee could've gone all day, and unfortunately for the OP, they got guilt tripped
maybe if you were not a weak minded fool you would still have your money.
Good job, you pushover.
ydi 100%
I work there. They don't renew unless you call or go through the register to renew. Not saying YDI but sorry you had to deal with an asshole marketer.
wow that's pretty bad. it's not even automatic renewal. I've been meaning to renew mine for ages.

Seems that maybe the root of your financial issues is that you can't say "no" to people. You're probably a wet dream for telemarketers, OP.
It's not automatic. You didn't have to call them.
