Today, I called to confirm the appointment that I made over six months ago at the tattoo studio. Turns out my particular artist "doesn't work Tuesdays" and that they also miraculously have no record of my appointment, nor the cash deposit I had to put down. FML

OP here. Different username since I didn't have an account when I wrote this. Just thought I'd do a little follow up. As far as the no receipt thing, yea, I know, shame on me. I'm getting more work done on an existing tattoo and this is the place where I had started at, so I didn't think much of it. This particular shop is known for how great the artists there are, so it is worth the six month wait (to me at least). It ends up the guy I had made the appointment with had quit the shop and taken his appointment book with him, so they had to way to contact me about it and apparently he isn't as professional as I thought since he didn't contact me either to let me know he moved shops. The shop itself was able to move some things around and I'm still able to get my work done at my time, just with a new artist so everything has worked out. Thanks for all the comments!

Wow. Put a cash deposit down and don't request a receipt? Kinda dumb OP and most legitimate places would offer one...

I know a lot of people who would. Tattoos can be extremely risky and expensive. I would wait 6 months for a reputable, safe artist than to get an immediate appointment with an unsafe artist with a bad reputation. The only mistake on ops part would be not keeping the deposit receipt.

I waited three months for my first tattoo appointment because the best artist in town was booked solid, I understand where you're coming from. Hopefully you can work it out with that studio, or you can do some homework and find another place of quality and get some paperwork this time. Good luck, OP

"This particular lady only comes on tuesdays.." pff, poor customer service.

Try again... "My particular artist DOESN'T work on Tuesdays."

What a bunch of bullshit. File a complaint if you still have the receipt of the money you put down. Good luck!

Well, OP, no offense but if you put down a cash deposit with a receipt, they're obviously going to trick you. So, when you schedule the laser tattoo removal, remember to keep the receipt.

exactly WHAT is OP getting removed? the end result of no appointment is no tattoo.

21, you're so original, suggesting someone who likes ink is gonna get laser removal! Like us inked individuals haven't heard that millions of times from the ignorant judgmental public! Good for you!

You didn't get a receipt for your cash deposit?

Who makes an appointment without getting an appointment card and/or receipt for a down payment?

If OP had a receipt there wouldn't be a FML.

Just think, the money you lost is peanuts compared to what you will spend on the inevitable removal a few years later. Plus, you would have to endure getting stabbed now and burned later.

Why is everyone saying that they're going to get the tattoo removed? I have several tattoos and no plans on getting any of them removed, but I made sure to get ones that I designed myself and actually held meaning to me.

I took this seriously for a second, then I saw who wrote it. Phew.

#46, when you're in your 30's with a few kids running around, call me back and tell me how cool your tattoos are then.

Yes my music notes on my foot are going to look horrible, plus I already know that I can't have kids so that isn't going to affect how they look. I didn't go for the "cool" factor, I went for meaning and how I value the subject.

Kay as an individual who grew up and a heavily tattooed family the whole you won't think that when your in your 30s, 40s whatever is even more annoying. My mum who is a fantastic mum has over 16 tattoos, and they look wonderful and she's very proud of her tattoos. Honestly, yeah you may regret one at some point but you may not. Unless you can somehow totally predict the future you won't know until that day comes, if ever. My mum and dad certainly don't regret any of there's and currently I don't regret any of mine.

I look at my ink as a reason to stay healthy and in shape so that it stays beautiful for a much longer period of time. Would you like to try again?
