Not to mention, if you did this to thieves they could sue you for assault, and they would be doing the right thing, because you were not threatened and therefore had no excuse to be violent. No, protecting your belongings is not an excuse to hurt someone (and that's coming from someone who deeply believes and supports the right to self-defense and self-protection, so I'm not a pacifist hippie or anything like that). Hahaha...that must have been an awkward moment of silence! By the way, burglars usually aren't armed. It is one thing to steal money and stuff, but something completely different to kill someone. At least it's like that in Germany, because we have very strict weapon laws here. Maybe it's different in countries where burglars have to expect to be shot, so that they therefore believe to have nothing to lose.
