Today, I came home from work when I heard people in my apartment. My apartment was supposed to be empty, so I entered ready to fight some thieves. I rushed in and hit the closest person to me before the lights switched on. It was a surprise party. I broke my girlfriend's cheek-bone. FML

The friends must have had a spare key, or possibly the girlfriend had a key to the place. That fact alone should lead the OP to realise that they may well be people in his home when he doesn't expect them, and he shouldn't be so quick to lash out. Especially over stuff. He would risk his life to save his property. His property must be incredibly important, or his life must be utterly worthless.

Wow. I'm all for dealing with things yourself before calling the cops - but seriously? A room FULL of people and you go in swinging? Sounds like you have some kind of anger issues, or mental problems, or something.

Your girlfriend obviously has keys to your apartment but you expected to be alone? It was too dark to see their faces but yet they somehow could see what they were stealing? You're obviously not very bright.

hahahahahahha! AMAZING! would have done the same thing!

let this be a lesson to you, define your target before you try to knock it's block off.
