Today, I came home from work when I heard people in my apartment. My apartment was supposed to be empty, so I entered ready to fight some thieves. I rushed in and hit the closest person to me before the lights switched on. It was a surprise party. I broke my girlfriend's cheek-bone. FML

YDI. Not for hitting a random stranger that broke into your house (because that's pretty understandable, in my opinion). Since your girlfriend was in there, I assume you gave her a key which means whether or not it was planned, there's always a possibility it's her. So yeah, YDI. If your son tells you he won't be home and you hear noises, you should keep in mind that it might be your son so don't randomly hit it. That's for future reference :)

Omg, overreact much? I mean yeah, it was supposed to be empty but I assume you live with your girlfriend or at least she has a key. Maybe her plans changed? Ever think of that? And also if you really think it's robbers then call the freaking police!!! No point in getting hurt or worse dying over your TV....
