My husbands mom did this back in '06. She pulled a credit card out in his name, maxed it out, then threw it away. He's pressing charges cuz she refuses to own up even tho we matched her handwriting to the one on the application. I'm really sorry. I hope you make her pay you back, if not, I'd press charges. Don't listen if she says you can't. You can. And report the purchases as fraud and file a police report immediately.
Wow, that is all kinds of messed up. I am so sorry for your husband.
I'd say if you can find the receipts to everything, return them back to the store. it will suck but at least you will get your money back. if anyone asks blame it on your mom for ruining Christmas.
You better have gotten a damn good present then
Why does she have the card? Report it stolen.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand why does your mom have access to your credit card? Sounds to me like you haven't established proper boundaries. NOBODY has access to my personal financials.
My mum has no access either but I don't keep it under lock and key, so really if I left my purse in attended in my house while she was visiting she could steal it if she had the mind too. Typically though we don't expect our parents to steal our personal belongings, it greatly upsets me that some parents break this trust and actually steal from their children.
YDI: why did you give her your card or how did she get it?
like previously mentioned she could have stolen it.. strange but that actually happens now and then. If their parent stole it then I really don't see how they'd deserve it.
Report it as credit card fraud and let the proper authorities deal with it. On the plus side you'll get Christmas. On the minus side you'll probably be putting your mom in the hoosegow. But at the end of the day it's her fault not yours. FYL, OP. It can take years to clean up this kind of mess on your credit reports.
Thats really poor..! report its stolen..no odr option :-
Change the name tags so everyone knows the gifts came from you. Christmas shopping done! However your mum needs to hurry up she only has a few days left to get all her gifts.

Damn cancel your card and tell your provider it was stolen :(
Make her pay you back, or press charges against her if she refuses to. That's effed up.
