Today, I sliced my arm open on the weekend, patched it with a fabric bandaid. Had an allergic reaction to the bandaid, arm now swollen, blistering and keeping-me-awake itchy. Pharmacist's advice? "Oooh, that looks bad. Better put a bandaid on that." FML

Today, I was riding a longboard down a hill and I fell off. I was all scraped up so I made sure to clean my wounds and put bandages on them. Turns out I'm allergic to the glue on the bandages and I have itchy hives all over and around my open wounds. FML

Today, I walked too close to a first-aid kit sticking out of a wall at work, and it cut my arm. Laughing at the irony, I opened it to get a band aid out. It was empty. FML

Today, I found out that I am allergic to one of the preservatives that they put in aloe. I found this out after I put some on a severe sunburn I have. Not only am I sunburned, but now I am severely itchy as well. FML

Today, I got a bug bite on my boob. I scratched it so much it started bleeding so I put a bandaid on it. Turns out the band-aid had latex in it and I got an allergic reaction to it. The bug bite is still bleeding and the top half of my boob is swollen. FML

Today, I got a new skin cream for my acne. I tested it on a small patch of skin just to make sure I wasn't allergic. I was, and the reaction didn't stay on that small patch of skin. My left arm is now almost entirely covered in a horrible rash. FML

You're not allergic to band-aids. You may be allergic to a certain type of band-aid. But yes, your life is ****** because you have a tiny rash on your leg that will probably disappear in a day.

15-actually a lot of people do have an allergy to the adhesive on them so OP isn't a dumb ****. you might want to not jump to conclusions when you're insulting a person. the post is lame, though. the mark will be gone in a few days and I hardly think this will fyl.

I don't see how this is an FML situation... I've always been allergic to Band-Aid adhesive. I also can't use a nicotine or birth control patch because I am allergic to the adhesive. It hasn't impacted the quality of my life at all.

Oh, and I went back and saw a few comments about the difference in adhesive between regular and fabric Band-Aids. That explains why I've never had a reaction to the fabric ones...

How is this a FML I'm allergic to plasters too, only the materiel ones mind, so if i get a cut i have to havee it either bandadgeed up or i have like hello kitty or Mr. Bump plastic ones. Surely you must hvae reealised this before?
