Today, I discovered that my father is getting married. Overjoyed and confused because I didn't know he was dating, I called him up to congratulate him, and ask who she was. Apparently, his soon to be fiancée is my mother-in-law. My wife is not happy. FML

Definite FYL, you'll be married to your step sister

That's awkward, I've seen this happen before. Just an overall bad situation.

Vice is nice but incest is best... put your step-sister to the test.

do people forget that incest is blood related only? if they are not related by DNA then it's nowhere near incest.. as awkward as this situation is OP and his wife are both adults and should realize that people can fall in love with anyone. If they are happy together I think it's fine.

The weirdest thing to me is that Dad just announced he was getting married, without a) breaking it to his own son and daughter in law that this was happening and, more importantly, b) letting it be known that he was dating into his daughter in laws family. I can't imagine not telling your son that you're dating a woman all the way past having proposed to her.

That's gonna make Thanksgiving awkward...

But Christmas shopping should be a lot easier and cheaper!

I don't see what the big deal is... Their parents found a Secant chance at love... And it's not like OP and his wife grew up together as brother and sister....

Who cares? You're still not blood related to your wife, you didn't grow up together as siblings, so really, what's the big deal? I get that it's a little weird but I think if you let it damage your marriage then you're handling it wrong.

There is more to it, other than that. Not everyone gets along with their inlaws.

That's....awkward, to say the least. Definitely fyl
