Today, my grandmother died. No one called me to let me know she passed. I found out because people kept writing RIP on her Facebook wall. My siblings and I weren't even mentioned in her obituary with the other grandchildren, but they did remember to mention her dog. FML

Today, I told my grandmother I was planning a trip to take my newborn son to meet his great-great-grandfather before it was too late. She had a guilty expression on her face. My great-grandfather died 4 months ago and my family forgot to tell me. FML

Today, I found out that my grandmother desecrated my grandfather's grave. 14 years after his death, she dug up his body and had him cremated so that she could sell his plot back to the cemetery for money. I was the one who found out so I had to tell the rest of the family. FML

Today, my grandpa died. I called my grandma to make sure she was going to be fine. After talking over the phone for 30 minutes or so, I told her goodbye and said, out of habit, "Say hi to grandpa for me". FML

You have no idea how many times that has happened to me. Not just with death, but with like people in my family becoming pregnant, my aunt getting engaged, my uncle proposing to his girlfriend, and many other things. My mom doesn't tell me anything. And my dad's just oblivious hahaha.

sorry to hear about that. that happened to me too! kinda...i found out my grandpa had past away when people started giving me their condolences on facebook. my mom told me he was sick so for a whole week i thought my grandpa was still alive. NOPE

I know how you feel. My mom died last week while I was on vacation. Had her hopsice worker not came for her weekly visit, I would have never know as the nursing home didn't call. hugs and I am sorry for your loss
