Today, I found my son's porn. I would sit him down for a talk, but the genres were so disturbing that I'm afraid to even ask about it. FML

May I ask what the genre was? Many of us are wondering and it may not be as bad or uncommon as you think.

You can not do that!! What a cliffhanger!!! Now I'm thinking bondage but it isn't that disturbing so I'm trying to think of the worst which may be a mix of feminine domination and bondage with something including animals. I don't know. You must inform us.

Please talk to your kid or have someone do it. My ex was really into hardcore **** and wound up being virtually unexcited by anything else. He was very frustrated I wouldn't participate in his fantasies. Like "no I'm not going to ********** with a baseball bat". It was mentally draining on both of us.

If he's old enough to view the material, whatever. If not, you do need to have a chat.

am I the only one who finds it disgusting that a parent would violate their child's privacy like this if I were him I'd report you to social services and if I were you I'd apologies and promise never to do it again he's not your property you have no right to violate his trust or privacy like this. no I'm not a kid nor a parent I'm old enough to be but I choose not to. go be a better parent and say sorry

Yes, yes you are. You'd sing a different tune if it were bomb recipes, then the parent would be "neglectful" at best. It's not violation of privacy if the child does not own the computer And pay the Internet bill. Smh. And apologize for caring? **** that! Social services would laugh in your face.

@156, You are making a lot of assumptions. You assume that the parent was looking for **** and didn't just stumble into it. You assume that the kid had an expectation of privacy on that computer/in that room, etc. You assume that there was no good reason for the parent to check. There are a LOT of assumptions entering into your indignation.

What the hell are you doing wandering his history and personal stuff anyway? If he's a teen like I presume he is, then it's completely normal. Just ignore it and move on. You must be the mom because dad probably already knows what's up.

"Normal" does not mean "legal" and I hate to have to harp on this, but minors shouldn't be viewing adult material. Yes, I read smutfic at 13, I also pirated music at 13. That doesn't mean it wasn't illegal.

Unless the teen paid for the computer and pays the Internet bill the parent has every right to look at the browser history. Kid should have cleared the history and cookies

Nothing wrong with watching ****, but if the genres are disturbing, unsettling or possibly dangerous its best to talk with him.

I didn't get the talk, I got grounded off the Internet. I'm still not allowed to use their Internet and that was more than 10 years ago... I just had a fascination with nipples...
