MissCommunicate tells us more.
I am only seventeen, and that's how I found out. My parents were then quick to give me the "talk".

Ok, so what? The fact that your parents are getting a divorce isn't going to pleasant to deal with no matter how you find out. If you're over the age of 18, it's really not any business of yours beyond the fact that it's happening.
Getting a divorce is a huge life change, and thus should be known to most, of not all, family members. Just because OP MAY be over 18 does not mean that all bridges are burned in communication. Say that you are 27. Your mom got hit by a car and is in the ICU. I ain't gonna tell you, so **** off.
It has an impact on your life even as an adult. What if it's not a so-called "friendly divorce," and they can't be near each other without screaming and fighting? Then what do you do when you get married? You can't invite them both, because they'll ruin the whole day. You can't invite just one, because then you're choosing sides. But you can't not invite either of them, because they'll resent you and each other for it.
better get some oil, your head is WAY shoved up your asshole!!!!
They tried telling you, but you were always so absorbed in your own world you didn't hear it. They felt like it was important for you to know, so they thought about a way they could reach you. Clearly it worked. Now get your ass of Facebook and talk to them.
