Today, I found out that, after offering to fill out my student aid application for me, my mother sent all of my personal information to a scam site instead. FML

That's why you always handle that kind of stuff yourself.

borrow her wallet for a few hours

Grow up and do it yourself. Mommy won't be able to fight your battles when you go away to school. Wait a minute, the future just called and informed me that your commuting from mommy house and not moving out of mommys house until your 45 years old. F your life.

To everyone who told OP to do it themselves: you need a parent's help with the FAFSA. End of story. Unless, of course, you've been filling out their tax returns for a little while, then you're all good. -,-

Change all of your personal information ASAP. File for a new social security number and notify your bank as well as your school's financial officers. Also, make sure to keep a watch on your credit score.

I just posted a similar comment, on another FML. Again, I'll say it. People that dumb should not be on the internet. No excuse.
