Call your bank/credit card company and tell them what information she sent. they can offer you ways to avoid further damages (like changing your account number). It's probably gonna cost you but not doing so is probably gonna cost much more. And everybody would you give the student a break? My father helps me fill forms all the time, I help him with translating stuff from English to our language... It's not lazyness, not everyone understands all the financial mambo jumbo in the application forms.
