Today, I found out that my boyfriend of two years had proposed to his ex a few days behind and she had declined. FML

Yikes guys! ... in reply to some of you.. A proposal I was expecting cause we've been together for oh well.. just 2 and a half little years and he had only mentioned it like 250 times in the past 5 months.. so yes, I was expecting it at any moment! The ring was indeed beautiful - not a family heirloom - and it was expensive.. I actually would have preferred a plastic ring that girls use to play barbie as long as it was OURS and not.. recycled.. But in the end, taking it to a jewelers and having it turned into a charm for a necklace wasn't that bad.. No we aren't together, and of course, he hid his relationship with this.. ex.. very very well for two whole years .. funny part ? she was engaged living with someone else as well! Oh well, one moves on :)

OMG this happened to me too! Except I was the ex that refused. My ex ended up marrying that girl and I've always felt bad for her. He's a huge jerk and your guy sounds like one too!

OMG that would definately suck. I would kick him to the curb, you are worth more than second best. :( I hope you wouldn't think twice about that. Hes a scum bag!

my friend kinda did the same thing to his ex gf... he asked his ex gf to marry him and she said no.... they broke up that day..... two days latter he went to his lattest ex before this ex and asked her... now they are happily engaged... = herrmmmm sounds like there is something wrong with that picture.... but he won't listen...

Not every woman cares about the cost of the wedding ring. I helped pick out my engagement ring and we got it on sale for $300 and we got my wedding ring from an eBay store and I love them. I didn't want my husband to go into debt buying me a ring and later when we can afford it for our 10th or 15th anniversary I can upgrade if I want.

No offense but I still think $300 for something smaller than a quarter and easily lost is extravagant and ridiculous. My fiance wanted to buy me an $18,000 ring because it is antique and one-of-a-kind. I told him if he really wanted to get me something that expensive it could wait until we were rich (ha ha) and my engagement ring is a gem-less silver band that cost $25.00. I don't like diamonds, hence the lack of any gems, because we didn't see any rubies or emeralds that I would like.
