Today, I found out that my boyfriend of two years had proposed to his ex a few days behind and she had declined. FML

Yikes guys! ... in reply to some of you.. A proposal I was expecting cause we've been together for oh well.. just 2 and a half little years and he had only mentioned it like 250 times in the past 5 months.. so yes, I was expecting it at any moment! The ring was indeed beautiful - not a family heirloom - and it was expensive.. I actually would have preferred a plastic ring that girls use to play barbie as long as it was OURS and not.. recycled.. But in the end, taking it to a jewelers and having it turned into a charm for a necklace wasn't that bad.. No we aren't together, and of course, he hid his relationship with this.. ex.. very very well for two whole years .. funny part ? she was engaged living with someone else as well! Oh well, one moves on :)

Telling people you are engaged = being excited about a big event in your life. Going around shoving your engagament ring in people's faces = tacky and shallow

Um, you do realize how expensive rings are dont you? Wait, who am I kidding, you are a woman, you dont care, as long as you get money. Also, in a divorce, the person who pays for the ring should get to keep it. After any other debts are settled of cource.

This fml isn't just about the fact that its the same ring. How about the fact that he asked his EX to marry him a few days before he asked her? Meaning THEY were together when he asked his ex. She has every right to be pissed. And I'm a woman. I don't give a shit how expensive a ring is or anything like that. But yes if I was proposed to with the same ring he used for another girl I would be a little hurt. Not because he didn't spend money on me but because that was THEIR ring. It was meant for her not me. So stop being such a dickhole and grouping all women together

was the ring an erloom? then it would be understandable to use the same one... not the proposal
