Sadly my ex-boyfriends mother does this, she still talks to me and has me as her daughter in law on Facebook. He has a new girlfriend now and I would never get back with him because he was abusive but I loved his family and actually feel bad for the girlfriend.

Please be very, very careful with this relationship, OP. My Mom was in this situation, and my Gran/her MIL battled my entire life, Gran created so much unnecessary drama and stress in our lives. Best wishes and I hope things get sorted!

My ex's mom did that too till she died. When he and I dated I viewed her as the mother I lost and she saw me as a daughter. She wanted us to get back together but she said even if we never did (which he and I both told her we were only friends and never would be more) that she still viewed me as a daughter to her.
