Today, my boyfriend went to see his ex, who is still friends with him, at her house to comfort her because her mom died. I found out after doing some Facebook stalking that her mom is very much alive. I called him on the phone to call him out on his lie. He responded that he meant her “stepmother” not biological mother. Right. FML

Today, my boyfriend had always told me that his mom was dead. Apparently he just meant she’s dead to him. She’s actually a con artist. I just met her for the first time, after learning she impersonated me, stole my savings, ran up credit card debt, and bought 3 cars. FML

Today, my mom called me to tell me she'd got in touch with my ex for his birthday, and that the two of them had made a plan for us to get back together. My new boyfriend was in the process of proposing to me. FML

Today, my boyfriend is always telling me I haven’t met his real mother yet, even though I’ve known her a year. However, when I happened to disagree with her today, she started screaming and hitting like a psycho. He had to wrestle her out the door. I get it now; I’ve now met his “real” mother. FML

Nope. Dump him now. If he lied to you about that god knows what else he could lie about. Also, (depending on the situation, for instance co-parenting) still being friends with an ex and hanging out with them is a recipe for disaster. If I had to still be friends with an ex, and he told me about a relative dying, I'd be like "I'm sorry, my condolences go out to your family during this hard time." Not hang out with them and "comfort" them. Find someone who respects you and your relationship.
