Today, I found out the high school I have been doing at home for the past 3 years isn't accredited and doesn't count for anything. I'm 18 and starting high school as a freshman next year. FML

Some high schools don't allow students over 21. Good luck with that, and I mean it sincerely, cause that sucks.

You should ahve investigated it earlier tbh... I mean, how can you not know it? Were there more people in that school anyway?

YDI for not thoroughly checking the program. However, there's no need to go to a regular high school at 18. Most towns have Adult Education programs, where you could either prepare for and take the GED exam, or enter the high school diploma program. Look into it, it's totally worth it.

YDI for not figuring this out sooner

So so so so sooooo Fake!!! What kinda high school acccounts for nothing? and they would sooo tell you something like that earlier.. and you cannot be 18 and a freshman in high school that is illegal.. you'd have to do like g.e.d or something... soo fake. and if it is some crazy way true.. YDI

Umm, homeschooling: and we have freshmen at the age of 18. Silly people. =/

Lol 42 stop acting like you know what you're talking about. It could be a scam to make money or the course could have lost it's accreditation. It's ILLEGAL to be 18 and start highschool? Do you even think before you speak?

It's not illegal dumbass, public highschools can hold you until your 23

If they claimed they had accreditation, sue them. If they didnt and you didnt bother to check... its sad but YDI. If it recently lost its accreditation then it means it had a shitty ass program and you should've realized that and change to a real one.

Check this out: http://www.narhs.org/ Seriously. Unless you've literally been doing NOTHING for the past few years, I'd bet that with a little effort, a few hundred bucks, and a little logic, you could get a high school diploma right now. I self-schooled myself through high school and graduated/got a high school diploma through NARHS. It's a pretty awesome, accredited program! Especially if your main concern is not having enough "proof" of educational things you did/read, etc. Also, like someone already said, check out CLEP testing! NARHS will honor that, as well, for credit. Best of luck!

I was home schooled, and my program didn't have a diploma program. I finished my school, then got my GED. Colleges accept the GED, especially if you explain that you didn't drop out

Dude, fight this! If you can prove that you did the work (essays, homework, etc), you can get the credits. You just need to speak to the right people. If you have to, write essays and such now, and put false dates on them. On the other hand, if you didn't actually do the work out and save it in folders, you deserve this for your stupidity.

I'm 20 and still finishing high school, welcome to the club :

Same thing happened to me. Luckily, I knew everything and just took my GED.
