Today, I found out the high school I have been doing at home for the past 3 years isn't accredited and doesn't count for anything. I'm 18 and starting high school as a freshman next year. FML

Some high schools don't allow students over 21. Good luck with that, and I mean it sincerely, cause that sucks.

You should ahve investigated it earlier tbh... I mean, how can you not know it? Were there more people in that school anyway?

FYL for all that work for nothing and YDI for not looking into accreditation for your work earlier than now....

You truly deserved it. That's something you check into before committing to it, you idiot.

As others have written, the answer is to get a GED, not to go to high school for another 4 years.

same thing happened 2 me! mom promised me i cld get a diploma && just found out i can't...just goin 2 get my ged instead

There once was an OP named 'diplomaless' OP took courses at home for years, nonetheless, But then OP found out they were invalid, So OP decided to have turkey salad. Yeah, suckish i know, but lets see YOU come up with something better! Yeah, you.

People, C'mon not all homeschooling programs are the same. I am from Florida and went through the same thing. What if she is using FLVS, or Florida Virtual school. It sends your credits to the school district but it does not give you a diploma, She may be misinformed. I went in to it because they told me i would receive a State Diploma, turns out my Guidance meant I would have to take my GED. It does suck, I wanted my diploma but instead i just went ahead and took my GED before even finishing all my credits because it really doesn't matter. Now, I'm about to go into College and I am a year ahead of everyone I went to school with. ( I went to highschool the first two years but because of my heart problems left)
