Idk about where you live, but to become a swim instructor here, you have to spend a lot of time taking classes. A lot of those classes are held IN THE WATER. Obviously you swim a lot and are good at it. So I don't understand why it took you this long to figure it out? Shower when you get it. Chlorine will irritate almost anyone if they leave it on their skin long enough.
I'm also allergic to chlorine. but instead of getting itchy I get an intense burning sensation every time I piss for the rest of the day. oh and I'm a lifeguard
time for a new job... plus its not the end of the world go to the beach
This is not a allergy to chlorine. Chlorine, and the hypochlorite used in the pool, are not effective allergens. You likely have an irritant dermatitis. It does still suck though.
chlorine really bothers my asthma... and I'm on a swim team, I'm a lifeguard and a swim instructor... Lucky only indoor pools bother me, i'm totally fine in outdoor pools, but i still understand and it sucks!
aren't there meda for that?
meant meds sorry
me too about the allergic to chlorine thing only I get red bumps on my >.< aaaaaaaaaack

That completely sucks. Time for a career change.
Allergies are not always present from birth or childhood. They can develop from the environment in adulthood.
