Today, I found out the reason I've been itchy for the last two weeks is because I'm now allergic to chlorine. I'm also a swimming instructor. FML

That completely sucks. Time for a career change.

Allergies are not always present from birth or childhood. They can develop from the environment in adulthood.

It's probably not even an allergy if your skin is just itchy. The chlorine is taking the moisture from your skin, just gets some really good moisturizing lotion, and use it everyday as much as you can. But then again. This is probably fake.

Go to a salt water or a bromine pool. Or work in a wet suit.

To be a swim instructor you should have been swimming for a long time, how is it that you are just finding this allergy out? Either your lying or your pretty stupid!

^^^ Are you a doctor? If so, I suggest more schooling. Not everyone is effected by chlorine. I'm on swim team and I have practice every morning and evening, I never get itchy.

I'm gonna call bullshit - how could you train to become a swimming instructor if you were allergic to chlorine?

This makes no sense. In order for the OP to become a swim instructor, he probably had to take swimming lessons, therefore immersing himself in chlorinated(sp?) water. He would've noticed the allergy sooner, unless he became an instructor the same day he learned to swim. Unless he learned to swim in a lake, then that changes everything.
