Think of this way: They are being generous. You get caring coworkers who want to spare your feelings AND free gum.
Yay! Free gum!
I think its a bit crap that no one just did the adult thing and told you but I'm glad they were trying. As much as its an awful thing to be told, it's very hard to converse (or indeed sit next to, if its bad enough) someone with bad breath. I'm sorry your breath smells but I hope you succeed in either doing something about it, or you at least enjoying reveling in your new-found ability to dispel annoying people.
Subtle. I like it.
Get your teeth checked first, then see a doctor. If it's not a dental problem, bad breath can have a lot of causes - reflux, certain infections and even just not drinking enough. Or it could be something you're eating. Best to deal with it now. And meanwhile invest in mouthwash, and your own chewing gum, and make sure you brush and floss.
Brush teeth and tongue and floss. If that doesn't work, you might have tonsil stones (look it up) that might be causing it. Beyond that, mouthwash. Good luck!
tonsil stones are awful. I started getting them at 12 and would always wonder why my breath smelled even after brushing my tongue. if it is stones then a qtip can help get them out. just make sure to brush your teeth and tongue very well, floss, and rinse with a mint mouthwash. So far I've found that act restore does a good job of preventing them.
Its a nice way of letting someone know of their bad breathe. Make a tradition, pass the gum on to someone with bad breathe.
I did this a lot in high school. A friend of mine had breath that smelled like a ripe pile of poo, no joke, it was bad... She never ate breakfast, and never brushed her teeth (would always say she forgot whenever it was bad enough for her to smell it herself). I brought it up a few times (politely, of course), but the most she did to deal with it was buy flavored gums that occasionally made it worse. So when she sat near me, I'd slyly pass her a piece of my minty gum to help freshen the air around her. Luckily for me, this was high school, and gum meant friendship.
Brush your teeth well with an electric toothbrush, floss, and use listerine rinse.

At least they tried hinting it to you nicely :)
Always carry gum with you. My breath can get really bad without gum. Trust me, guy or girl no one wants to talk to someone with bad breath. Just be glad you found out now, rather than have someone tell you later OP.
