Today, I found out where my stolen car was. It was all the way in Maine. I live in Ohio and I got a $300 fine for illegal parking. FML

I'm sorry! My car got stolen once. The cops actually found it and towed it. Before I could get to it, it was stolen again.

If you have full coverage insurance and have filed a report with the police and your insurance company the insurance company should pay for all the impound charges, damages and towing to return it. I would look into what your policy actually states and push them to get on it because that storage adds up quickly. (I work for a tow yard so Ive seen it a lot over the years.)

If you reported it stolen tell them to send the fine to the person who stole it. Add it onto their charges for theft.

Hopefully I'm wrong but hearing the amount of people who claim their car is stolen when it's a civil matter, I can't help but think that's what this is. I don't see why an officer wouldn't run the plate out, so it should've come back stolen if it was (could've been) reported as such.
